My Favourite Skillshare Classes: Lettering
Stay-at-home weekends are perfect for snuggling up on the couch with a nice cuppa tea (and the dogs of course, or the cat or whatever it is for you).
Let me be honest with you: I am restless, I am deeply curious about everything and I love learning new things and exploring. As exploring the outdoors is a no-go right now, I focused on learning over the past months.
It’s so great that we’re living in the 21st century: there are books, online coachings, zoom coachings, Skillshare, Creative Live, MasterClass…just to name a few. As I’m a self-taught artist, I’ve learned a lot from them and I am still learning, every day.
I know many of you already use Skillshare for learning new things (same here 👋🏻), as it’s affordable, the community is engaged and amazing and you can do a 14-day free trial on its Premium paid membership if you like.
If you’re curious and love learning, too, this is for you! Here are my favourite Lettering Classes on Skillshare:
Simple Words to Stunning Art: Combine Hand Lettering and Illustration
by Gia Graham, Designer, Letterer, Illustrator
Ready to level up your lettering compositions by incorporating illustration?
In this class you won’t learn how to draw, you’ll learn how to work your way through the creation process from brainstorming ideas and sketching to deciding and finalizing the final artwork. You will be able to transform a phrase with basic letterforms into a compelling work of art. If you’re new to lettering, especially lettering on the iPad, the following class Is for you:
Hand Lettering in Procreate: Fundamentals to Finishing Touches
by Gia Graham, Designer, Letterer, Illustrator
If you’re new to lettering, this is the class to start with. I highly recommend it.
Intro to iPad Lettering
by Teela Cunningham, Hand Lettering + Graphic Design
Another brilliant class to start with if you’re new to lettering on the iPad.
Teela is one of my favourite teachers on Skillshare and beyond, I really enjoyed her Watercolor Course and I can highly recommend any of her classes. She’s also offering free YouTube mini-classes every Tuesday, so be sure to sign up for her newsletter and/or check them out on YouTube.
iPad Lettering: The Ultimate Guide
Peggy Dean, Top Teacher | The Pigeon Letters
Last but not least, the amazing and brilliant Peggy Dean.
This class is filled with everything you need to know about lettering on the iPad using Procreate.
I hope you enjoy the classes as much as I did. Let me know which one you liked best!
