It’s time to lean in close…
Remember last week’s blog post, when we were talking about choosing your ICA, your Ideal Client Avatar, and how it is the most effective way to guarantee sales on social media?
I shared this knowledge with you before getting into strategies of writing captions as you must get crystal clear on who you’re speaking to before you start writing.
This is where many small businesses either fail or quit, because they don’t take the time to get to know their Ideal Client.
But not you.
You have all the knowledge now to find your Ideal Client.
Today I’m going to share with you how I try to write engaging captions.
1 The 7 Caption Categories // Your Focus
Caption categories help me to make posting on social media easier and more effective.
Regardless your industry, there are seven caption categories that will make it easier for you to engage and connect with your people and customers. I don’t always manage to stick to them every week, but it’s great to know where your focus should go and what type of content you can / should create.
The categories are: about me, behind the scenes, personal insight, my why, encouragement / motivation, benefits (of your business / working with you), your product / service (showcase a product or service you offer)
If you are struggling with what content to create for your categories, make a list of frequently asked questions people have asked about your products or service.
2 The HIC Formula
Being an alumni of Jasmine Star’s SOS (Selling on Social), I’m a huge fan of her HIC Formula.
It’s a very effective way to engage your people and stop them from scrolling.
HOOK: stops your follower’s scroll and makes them want to read more
INSIGHTS: provides value and answers their questions / gives them what they need
CALL TO ACTION: encourages them to do something (sending you a DM, visiting your website, etc.)
That’s it. That’s the magic. Again, it’s *social* media, so treat everyone like you’d treat them in ‘real life’, engage, be interested not interesting and you’ll be surprised by the connections you make and the amazing people you get to meet!
If you want to know more about the HIC Formula, I highly recommend Jasmine Star’s SOS course.
There’s nothing more important to me than share my knowledge with you and help you turn your social media into a fun and easy place to meet your people.
