Let me be honest with you: 2020 and 2021 (especially the 2021 March) make me count the days until ANY road trip through Ireland, no matter where I’m heading or staying at. Since 2020 has turned out to be completely different from what we all had in mind, I believe we all deserve something special. 2020 made me realise how special time with family and friends (and especially dogs) is, how precious happy moments are and how lucky we are to be alive and healthy.

So why not spend this precious vacation time at special places? Whether it’s a short weekend trip or a long staycation road trip, Ireland has quite a few unusual and very unique airbnbs to stay at.

You probably already know I spent most of my childhood in the south-west of Ireland and I still love coming back to the Dingle Peninsula. The landscape is so beautiful and unique, right?

Be sure to check out my blog post about the Dingle Peninsula here

3    Panorama in Cloghane

Goals! The views are spectacular here: Conor Pass, Mount Brandon, Cloghane and Brandon Bay, just to name the best of it. The the house is located in a peaceful and private surrounding. We loved sitting in the sunroom, enjoying the views and watching the sheep in the fields around the house. It’s perfect for children (at least I would have loved it there as a child) and if  you need a big house/several bedrooms during your stay, this is it.

2    Sands Cottage near Castlegregory

And again, a smile crosses my face when I think back to this house. The garden is amazing (and rather huge for an airbnb) and Neala absolutely loved it there. It’s peaceful, quiet and secure and the house is brilliant. The property manager was kind and very helpful and although it doesn’t have the views of houses like Clifftop, I can highly recommend it, too. You can walk to the beach (click here for the video) in just a few minutes and that’s exactly what we did every morning and every evening.

1 Clifftop House near Dingle Town

Remember our amazing video about the Dingle Cliffs and our daily sea view instagram stories in November and December of 2019? That’s where we were staying back then! The house is amazing and the view is spectacular. The garden is secure and the house is pet friendly. I highly recommend it.

And what I love most about all of them: they’re dog friendly. Yay! More about Irish dog-friendly airbnbs and hotels in my blog post here

Happy staycation!
