Five Pubs in West Cork You Need to Visit in 2024

West Cork and the Beara Peninsula in the south west of Ireland are not only home to the most spectacular and beautiful landscape you’ll ever see, and Colin Farrell’s favourite town in Ireland… you’ll also be surprised by the quality of live music, drink and food (and chats!)in some of the pubs and bars in West Cork.

Pubs are important for rural communities and are essential centres for the towns and villages in West Cork.

Please support the local communities by visiting the pubs and bars on the list. You’ll receive a warm welcome, I promise.

#1 Urhan Inn, Urhan / Eyeries

The best vibes any pub can have. The passion, effort and work Emer and Ian put into their bar pays off: good vibes, great chats, a beautiful and safe back garden / beer garden, benches outside (doggo friendly!) and *new* this summer: Beara Barista’s food truck too! Yummy food (on the weekends), a cold drink and great chats, what else could you wish for?

Please don’t miss the opportunity to visit this great pub when visiting the Beara Peninsula.

#2 Twomey’s Ivy Bar Castletownbere

A great pub in the heart of Castletownbere. Beer garden at the back overlooking the water front / harbour. Delicious drinks, spacious, mixing new and traditional well and one of the last pubs in Beara with great live music on the weekends.

#3 DeBarra’s Clonakilty

The BEST music location in West Cork. Don’t miss it, I’m sure you’ll love it.

Traditional Irish music sessions every Sunday evening. Lots of draft beers, nice staff and so much history on display. Enjoy the music gigs, enjoy the vibe!

#4 Levis’ Corner House Ballydehob

A bar, a music venue, the village shop, local food market - all in one? Yes, this is Levis’ Corner House in Ballydehob. Some of the best concerts I’ve ever been to have happened here and I can’t wait for you to experience it too.

Visit https://leviscornerhouse.com for more info.

#5 Causkey’s Eyeries

The window. The view. You can’t beat it.

Definitely worth a visit on your tour around the Beara Peninsula.

#6 Helen’s Bar Kilmakilloge

I know, I know. Helen’s Bar is not in West Cork, technically. But it’s on the Beara Peninsula and I just had to add it.

The cheapest Guinness in Ireland? Yes, you’re right.

Helen’s Bar in Kilmakilloge is a fabulous place.

Enjoy the views from the pier, give the seafood platter and mussels a try and fall in love with this place.
