Did you like school growing up?

When I was little, I used to hate the first day of school. I cried walking to the bus stop.

Being highly sensitive and neurodivergent, I love learning but I’ve always hated school. Does that make sense?

Now, I still love learning but I prefer to do it from my couch, while doing household chores, or from the sunny spot in my garden. Online learning platforms are THE way to learn fast and in a relaxed way.

Are you the same?

Online platforms can be a great way of learning. It is important though to find the right course and the right platform for you.

Let’s take a look at Skillshare and Creative Live.

Both offer a great learning experience. You can learn at your own pace and at whatever time suits best for you.

CreativeLive was founded by Chase Jarvis and Craig Swanson in 2010.

What I like about CreativeLive is that every lesson is very well made, it looks and sounds professional and you know that you won’t be disappointed by the quality of the lessons. Chase Jarvis himself is a photographer just like me and I appreciate that the cares about the aesthetic and quality of the production.

CreativeLive includes over 2000 courses by more than 500 different instructors. Why not more? Not everyone can create a course. The industry leading experts are curated to upload their courses. This way, they can make sure you always get lessons of the highest quality.

Instructors include experts like Richard Branson, Tim Ferriss, Daymond John, Bonnie Christine, Jasmine Star, Lisa Jacobs and more.

CreativeLive vs Skillshare

Skillshare is less curated than CreativeLive.

This can be good and bad.

Not all Skillshare classes are made equally in terms of quality, but it offers an insight into creatives workflows from every level of expertise.

CreativeLive only focuses on improving specific skills, like marketing, writing or personal finance and won’t be of any help if you can’t figure out how to turn your watercolour drawing into a pattern design with Photoshop.

If you don’t mind the occasional bad experience when it comes to sound or quality of the course, Skillshare is the best and more affordable option.
